The Member of Parliament for Asunafo North, Hon. Haruna Mohammed, has reaffirmed his dedication to improving education and community development by supporting the completion of the Teachers’ Bungalow Project at Gyaekontabuo, a suburb of Goaso-Mim in the Ahafo Region.
To help accelerate construction, Hon. Haruna Mohammed donated 80 bags of cement and 4 packets of roofing sheets, providing the much-needed materials to bring the project closer to completion.
The Teachers’ Bungalow, a joint initiative between teachers and the Gyaekontabuo community, has been under construction for nearly three years. It aims to provide decent accommodation for teachers serving in the area, ensuring comfort and stability for educators who play a vital role in shaping the next generation.
Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Haruna Mohammed emphasized that supporting teachers is central to his vision for educational growth in Asunafo North.
“When our teachers are comfortable, they can give their best to our students. Quality education begins with supporting those who dedicate their lives to teaching,” he said.
He commended the teachers and residents of Gyaekontabuo for their unity and determination to improve their community through self-help projects. Their resilience, he noted, reflects the true spirit of Asunafo North — a community built on collaboration and shared purpose.
This initiative forms part of Hon. Haruna Mohammed’s broader commitment to education, youth empowerment, and community infrastructure. Over the years, he has supported several schools across the constituency with learning materials, scholarships, and development projects to create better learning environments.
Residents and local leaders of Gyaekontabuo expressed deep appreciation to the MP for his timely intervention. They believe this support will not only speed up completion of the bungalow but also motivate teachers to remain dedicated to their duties.
Hon. Haruna Mohammed reaffirmed his commitment to continue working closely with schools, communities, and development partners to uplift education standards in Asunafo North.
“Education is the foundation of progress. When teachers are supported, education thrives — and when education thrives, the whole constituency wins.”
